When the Green Beret Project first met Kaseem at age 12, he was facing challenges. Kaseem came from a difficult neighborhood and was being picked on by other kids for being overweight. However, the Green Beret Project saw Kaseem’s potential and worked to support and guide him.
Through the Green Beret Project's after-school program, Kaseem was able to participate in sports and academics. The program helped coach him to become an exceptional young man. Kaseem excelled, making the high school football team and becoming the captain of the lacrosse team.
As Kaseem prepared for life after high school, the Green Beret Project continued to support him. They helped Kaseem apply to college, and he was accepted to Williamson College of the Trades with a $106,000 scholarship for carpentry.
The Green Beret Project took Kaseem, a young man facing adversity, and helped him develop into a successful student-athlete poised for a bright future. Through mentorship, academic support, and exposure to new opportunities, the Green Beret Project was able to empower Kaseem to reach his full potential.
