  • Ryan Smith

    Board President

    Inspired by witnessing the transformative impact of Green Beret Project (GBP) graduates in their communities, Ryan became actively involved with the organization three years ago and now serves as Board President. In this role, he contributes to program development and helps connect GBP graduates to career opportunities in the technology sector.

    With a professional background in technology, Ryan leads teams that support the world’s largest financial institutions, leveraging his expertise to drive innovation and results. Beyond work and GBP, Ryan enjoys spending time with his family, staying active outdoors, and keeping up with their high-energy dog. He is passionate about creating opportunities for others and fostering meaningful connections that lead to lasting change.

  • Mark Chapman

    Board Member

    Mark A. Chapman is the CEO and Co-Founder of gfaith LLC and serves on the boards of The Jack Brewer Foundation and The Green Beret Project.

    A former CEO of Salveo Diagnostics, Mark has held executive roles at General Foods, Dr Pepper, Malt-O-Meal, and Ralston Purina, and founded United Sales Inc., later sold to Fleming Foods. He has consulted across industries and earned the Distinguished Civilian Service Award from President George W. Bush for his work with the armed forces. Mark holds degrees in Marketing and Psychology from Richmond University and has completed advanced studies at the University of Pennsylvania, University of Chicago, and Stanford.

    He has volunteered as a Court Appointed Child Advocate and in pastoral care at St. Luke’s Hospital in Houston. Mark and his wife, Dr. Roberta Bogaev Chapman, share a passion for serving others and enjoy time with family, flying, and outdoor activities.

  • Chuy Almonte

    Board Member

    CSM Jesus Almonte enlisted in the U.S. Army in 1996 as a Construction Equipment Repairer & later became a Special Forces Communications Sergeant (18E). He has served in multiple leadership roles, including Team Sergeant, Company Sergeant Major, and Command Sergeant Major, across units such as the 7th and 3rd Special Forces Groups. His assignments span combat tours in Afghanistan & deployments to Southeast Asia, South America, Europe, and Africa.

    CSM Almonte holds a B.S. in Liberal Arts from Excelsior College and has completed numerous military courses, including the Special Forces Qualification, Combat Diver Qualification, and Joint Special Operations Forces Senior Enlisted Academy. His awards include the Bronze Star with Valor, two additional Bronze Stars, the Defense Meritorious Service Medal, and numerous others, along with multiple foreign jump wings and Special Forces credentials.

    Above all, he treasures his wife, Michelle, and their six children, Clara, Jakey, Jesus, Annie, Charlie, and John James.

  • Mark Eubanks

    Board Member

    Reverend Mark A. Eubanks (USA SGM RET), a St. Louis native, spent his formative years in Minneapolis, where he graduated as class president and Young Man of the Year in 1983. He joined the U.S. Army that year, serving 32 years, including 9 combat tours in Afghanistan & Iraq, before retiring as a Special Forces Sergeant Major in 2015. His career included assignments in Germany, Korea, & Fort Bragg, as well as deployments to Central & South America, Haiti, Kosovo, and Africa.

    Since retiring, he has remained active in ministry, serving as President & now a board member of the Green Beret Project. Ordained in 2012, he is the Men’s Ministry Coordinator at Simon Temple & author of It’s a Soldier’s Life, a newsletter encouraging Christian men to “fight the good fight of faith.”

    Mark is married to Dr. Paula Nobles Eubanks, & they have four children and one grandchild. His favorite scripture is 2 Timothy 4:7-8, reflecting his commitment to serving as a warrior for the Kingdom of God.

  • Scott Kelly

    Advisory Board

    Scott Kelly has been with the Green Beret Project for seven years, previously serving as President of the Board. He also coaches senior executives and incarcerated individuals, offering tailored support to meet their needs.

    A retired U.S. Army officer, Scott commanded airborne infantry and special operations units, spending most of his career with 1st SFOD-D (Delta Force). He has extensive experience in combat, counter-terrorism, and clandestine intelligence, with over a dozen global deployments.

    Scott is the President of Conrex, a single-family rental operator with ~$1.5B AUM. Over the past four years, he has grown the company by over 35%, guiding it from start-up to maturity. Following its acquisition by Brookfield Asset Management, Conrex is positioned for continued growth.

  • Willis Chevrolet

    Advisory Board

    Isaac Willis, a 1993 Smyrna High School graduate, earned a B.S. in Criminal Justice from the University of Delaware in 1997, where he served on the University’s volunteer ambulance corps. A third-generation dealer at Willis Chevrolet Buick, Isaac worked in every department before becoming General Manager in 2004 and now Dealer Principal alongside his father, William H. Willis Jr.

    A 33-year member of the Smyrna Volunteer Fire Company, Isaac has served as Fire Chief and held various leadership roles, earning Firefighter of the Year in 1993 and responding to thousands of emergencies. He also serves on the Green Beret Project’s advisory board, supports local driver education programs, and led the capital campaign for the Greater Smyrna Clayton Boys and Girls Club.

    Isaac lives in Smyrna with his wife, Christy, and their children, Brooke and Mason, while continuing to support organizations that strengthen his community.
